The Manager will be responsible for the management, organisation and co-ordination of the childcare facility, and will work with the childcare management committee in the facility’s development as a quality, sustainable community childcare service.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, 25 hours per week
Education: QQI Level 7 Advanced/Higher Certificate (preferred)
Experience: Leadership: 2 years (preferred)

Key areas of responsibility:
Quality Childcare
- To engage in activities with children in the facility.
- To manage, organise and co-ordinate all activities relating to the daily operation and delivery of the childcare service.
- To ensure quality practice standards and full compliance with the pre-school regulations, 2016 and all other relevant legislation including employment and health and safety legislation
- To develop and implement policies and procedures in consultation with the General management and BOD.
- To develop positive partnerships with parents
- To ensure the health, safety and well being of children, staff, parents, and visitors attending the facility
- To ensure children are protected, in accordance with Children First: National Guidelines for the Protection and Welfare of Children
- To provide good role-modelling for children, parents, and staff
- To develop and evaluate a broad-based curriculum relevant to the needs of children.
- To develop inter-agency liaisons which enhance and support the development of a quality sustainable childcare service.
- To liase with other agencies, health professionals and referring workers as required.
- To co-ordinate manpower planning in consultation with all relevant parties. This includes recruitment and selection.
- To ensure the management, support, training and supervision, Appraisals of staff, including daily progress feedback.
- To partake in training, support, and supervision.
- Any other duties which may be assigned by the general manager and BOD from time to time.
Financial and Business Management
- To ensure the daily management of income and expenditure and oversee the preparation of monthly accounts in partnership with the administrator.
- To assist the General manager in the sourcing and writing of funding applications to ensure long-term sustainability and affordability.
- Quarterly returns FIRS To present a written report to management monthly.

Role: To support and assist in the provision of sessional preschool and education of the highest quality in a holistic setting for children from approximately age 3yrs to 6years.
Hours of work will be 8:30am- 12.30pm Monday to Friday

Duties and Responsibilities
- To care for preschool children daily, fulfilling their needs in a friendly and engaging manner and co-ordinate the implementation of age-appropriate activities.
- To maintain individual portfolios (Journey Books) of each child and document their weekly progress in various skills.
- Bring innovation in education, make learning easy and interesting for the Children.
- Communicate effectively with the parents.
- Maintain strict confidentiality. Any breach of confidentiality about children or their families will constitute gross misconduct.
- Promote and encourage healthy eating in accordance with the services Healthy Eating policy.
- Attend staff meetings and undergo training as required.
- Perform other reasonable and relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualification and Training
- Minimum Level 6 in Childcare on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) Level 6 desirable
- Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.
- Kindness, warmth, and responsiveness to the needs of children.
- Good communication and relating skills with children, staff, and parents
