Job Description

Title: ​All Weather Pitch Groundsperson
Reporting To:​ General Manager/ Duty Manager
Hours of Work:​ 5pm- close (Mon-Fri) and 10am -6pm (Sat) 10am -3.30pm (Sunday)
​20hrs a week

Main Duties

  • Assisting members and visitors calling to the pitch
  • Checking bookings of pitch users with Duty/Booking manager
  • Ensure the Terms and conditions of use/hire are adhered to.
  • Check condition of pitch before any Community centre user goes on pitch and report any problem/defect to management
  • Ensure time keeping is kept by all users
  • Fill out checklist and Grounds person shift report at the end of each shift and place in manager’s tray.
  • General maintenance of pitch and area including litter picking, painting etc.
  • Moving of furniture on pitch to suit bookings
  • Maintain and repair tools and equipment
  • Ensure brushing of pitch is done on a regular basis
  • Ensure pitch is watered to level required by bookings.

Security

  • Monitor activity in and around pitch
  • Patrol pitch periodically throughout the night
  • Secure pitch at the end of working shift- ensure all people have left area
  • Check all gates are closed; lock pedestrian gate, lock main gate.
  • Ensure lights are turned off by 10pm
  • In the event of an emergency contact Manager on duty.
  • Assist in events/functions taking place on pitch, as requested
  • Assist in other duties in the community centre as may be required from time to time.
  • If leaving the pitch for any reason you must inform manager on duty so replacement can be got if necessary.

Preschool Assistant

Role: To support and assist in the provision of sessional preschool and education of the highest quality in a holistic setting for children from approximately age 3yrs to 6years.
Hours: of work will be 9am- 1.30pm Monday to Friday 22.5hrs per week.
Remuneration: for discussion based on experience and qualifications.

Reports to: Preschool Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To care for preschool children daily, fulfilling their needs in a friendly and engaging manner and co-ordinate the implementation of age-appropriate activities.
  • To maintain individual portfolios (Journey Books) of each child and document their weekly progress in various skills.
  • Bring innovation in education, make learning easy and interesting for the Children.
  • Communicate effectively with the parents.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality. Any breach of confidentiality about children or their families will constitute gross misconduct.
  • Promote and encourage healthy eating in accordance with the services Healthy Eating policy.
  • Attend staff meetings and undergo training as required.
  • Perform other reasonable and relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification and Training

  • Minimum Level 6 in Childcare on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) Level 6 desirable
  • Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Kindness, warmth, and responsiveness to the needs of children.
  • Good communication and relating skills with children, staff, and parents
